Who framed Albert Stone?Why was Albert created?

Albert Stone was created for the opening of an art exhibition and corporate dinner.

The brief was to find a famous painting and create a human statue inspired by the painting. Albert was placed in a picture frame for an hour and then came slowly to life to do a show.

Albert Stone was inspired by the French artist "Margritte." The painting was called "Dance of the roses." A picture of two men made of stone with a stone background.

It took five months to make the costume and plinth from idea to conception. Albert Stone was born on Friday 13th September, 1996.

Albert Stone's maker is Anthony Verity, who can create characters for special events, trade shows etc., using costume, pantomine, robotics and slow motion mime.
